Can parents think of a time when their kids were not there?
As a parent, I think it is a very hard thing to do.
Another day, my daughter cried like hell seeing our wedding pictures because she could not find herself there. I told her, "Dear, you were not there then". She said, "What do you mean I was not there, I was always there".
This made me think that it may be untrue to say that my daughter was not with us when she was not born. She is an extrapolation of me, my husband and our families. If I personify our thoughts, emotions, feelings; I see my daughter; of course in a surprisingly novel way. These emotions and thoughts were with us even before our daughter was born. Could that mean we always had her even before her birth?
Let me say it by an example. I never expressed but I have a habit of making up imaginary stories since childhood. I never penned it down nor told anybody. In fact, I think it is a waste of time and try to get rid of it. Surprisingly, my daughter makes up some stories and keep telling all the time. She never saw or heard this from anywhere but something which I passed on to her unknowingly. There are so many things kids do, which reflects our thoughts. But it is hard to identify because kids' thoughts are further colored with what they see on TV, learn in school, listen from friends. Their space is a lot different than ours. And it may not be only our impressions, it can be our parents' and grandparents' impressions. And then interestingly, a mix of all of them.
Now, think of someone who has left us. Five, six years after they have left the world, we still have them in our thoughts. We may be living in a house chosen by our parent or grandparent who is not with us now. We may be doing something which he or she always wanted to do. Our behaviors definitely have a tinch of their impressions.
So, do we live in this world mentally more than we do physically? Well, when we are sleeping, are we living mentally or physically?
It is said the body is in the mind and the mind has no shape. In fact, mind is invisible. Are we living some invisible bigger lives which we are not even aware of? Subconsciously, we affect every other being we meet. If a thought of mine influenced another person to do something. Was it his action or mine or both. Did I live a tinny bit through him?
For sure life is magnanimous, much bigger than we perceive!
